Zit City

| | Comments (1)

So I woke up Sunday morning with two little pimples. One on the left side of my mouth, and one on the top of my right eyebrow. Now, I used to get zits if I didn't wash my face immediately after working out, but Lord knows I haven't been working out, so that wasn't an option.

So then later that night, I'm playing with Owen and pick him up to throw him atop my shoulders to carry around the house. As soon as he gets on top, his right hand immediately plants itself above my right eyebrow, and his left hand, you guessed it, clasps my face right around my mouth. He's clinging on for dear life as he's five feet taller than he's used to being.

I should say that on Saturday, we went to Gainesville for a day trip. We wanted to see if we could get tix to the gator game (we could, we did, and even paid less than face value due to nearly missing the first quarter). So we were genii (plural for genius) and parked at the Publix on 34th and 2nd thinking, eh, we'll walk over. No worries. Without a stroller. With a kid who was going thru a very clingy phase. We did the math at the end of the day. From publix to the stadium, then to univ & 13th (we needed our burrito bros. fix!), then back to the stadium via campus, and back up to the publix ... it's about 6 miles.

So each of us holding the kid on our shoulders for about 3 miles each ... yeah, I can see where his grimy, grubby, oily little hands could have caused little zits on my face. So in the end, I suppose there could be worse ways to get those zits. Like working out. Hey wait, walking six miles (uphill) was a workout!
