I belong in Dublin!! Or so they say. I wonder if it had anything to do with me answering one of the quiz questions with "Beer." Hmmm ... Maybe!
You Belong in Dublin |
You're the perfect person to go wild on a pub crawl... or enjoy a quiet bike ride through the old part of town. |
Anybody know any good flight fares to Dublin? :)
(The title is "four things" in four different languages.)
Annie sent me this, so I MUST comply!
A) Four places that I go to repeatedly:
Owen's Day Care
Bally's
Costco
Publix
(I know, calm down, you're dying of all the excitement in my non-stop life)
B) Four people who e-mail me regularly:
Annie
Charity
My sister
buy.com
C)My four favorite places to eat:
Shari Sushi
Seito Sushi
Thai Villa / Rpyal Thai (it's a Thai. Aahhahahhahaha a Tie, get it, Thai, Tie)
Gino's Pizza downtown after a night of getting my drank on! (not that happy hour drinking plays much of a role in my life much anymore, but every now and then, KA-POW!)
D) Four places I would rather be right now:
In my bed
On a plane anywhere
At a casino (only while I'm winning big, tho)
At a bar. Drinking. Heavily. (and then maybe going to Gino's afterward)
E) Four people I think will respond:
Charity, when she gets back from vacay (hope you are having/had a good time!)
Huy, maybe he can Plurk it! (Plurk it real good)
Christine, cause she just has sooooooooo much time (end sarcasm)
Mandy, who has to be the most consistent blogger I know. I think she's got more posts in one year of blogging than I have in 4. You Go Girl! (which incidentally reminds me of a t-shirt I saw this weekend while in line for the Simpsons Ride @ Universal - "You Go Girl. And Keep on Going."
F) Four TV shows I watch all the time:
Law & Order:: CI
Psych
Lost
Heroes
(I realize I DVR entirely too much TV, but as I've mentioned before on this blog, I'm a VERY efficient television watcher now! An hour show in 44 minutes! Sometimes less when I skip the credits. Holla.)
Hello from the land of the lost. Not much new to report here - pretty much the same stuff, except multiplied by 12. My hair is falling out from all the stress - literally. My house is in total disarray - I realize I store way too many things - knick knacks, this and that. I so look at houses with a minimalist feel to them, and I love them and wonder how I could ever achieve such a state of zen.
Work is busy, been working late hours.
Owen's doing good - but man, two weeks ago he was a TOTAL bear. He was eating a lot more, too, so we figured it was a growth spurt. In which case, I cannot complain; I need that boy to grow all he can. But he's pretty much back to normal now.
Ah, the funniest thing in his repetoire (aside from demanding to sleep ... NAKED) is that he now wants to prove that he can pee standing up. *sigh* So he'll go to school, go to the toilet, pull his pants and underwears down and instead of sitting, pees standing up. Which is fine ... as long as he's not distracted. If someone walks by, he turns to see what's going on ... Yep, turning his stream along with him.
I'm trying to help teach him aim by putting rocks in the grass in the backyard that he can shoot for. I gotta say, when he focuses, he's got pretty damn good aim.
They should be working again. (Thank you, Huy!) Please let me know if you have troubles posting comments. Test out this post and see if you can post a comment. Let me know if you get the "you have submitted too many comments in a short amount of time" error - either now, or if you've ever gotten them. I get them a bit, so was just wondering.
And man, I am so sleepy and tired. soooo tired.
So many thanks to the folks that gave me suggestions on good workout songs. I love it. I do so good during the week, but then the weekend comes and I gain a pound and a half just by looking at a bowl of ice cream. But it's ok. I think I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never be skinny minny like [most] women dream about. My thighs will never NOT touch (damn "athletic" build thighs (too bad they're not toned)) and my stomach will never be flat.
But anyway. It would be nice to fit into clothes from a few years ago, tho. ONE DAY! For now, I'll just die as I huff and I puff while on the damn elliptical trainer at the gym. Damn you machinery, daaaaamn you!
I gotta say, tho, it was pretty funny - two nights ago, Owen and I were eating a late dinner (Ryan was exhausted, so he went to bed way early) and we were talking and all of a sudden, he starts singing, "Fix it, fix it, fix it." And I was like, get out, is my kid singing Danity Kane? And so I opened my blog and played the youtube from two posts ago and he started dancing when the fix it fix it part came on.
That kid is funny.
Ahhhh, how life is bittersweet to see your little babies grow up up up up up with or without you.
Monday night we decided that Owen was ready. Ready for what? For going to school in Underwear. He'd been doing 99% fine at home wearing undies, that we said, you know what, let's do it. It also didn't hurt that we were about to buy him a baseball glove, but had the ingenious idea to use that as a reward: The first full day you can go at school without having an accident, we will buy you your very own baseball glove.
So Tuesday morning, we woke up and I proceeded to dress him up in his underwear ... actually following thru with a plan, I couldn't believe it. He went on the potty in the morning, before school and I reminded him of his goal - the first day at school w/no accidents and he could get his own glove. "My own glub, mama?" Yes, Owen, your own glove. "A big one?" Yes, honey, whichever one you want, as long as you stay dry at school today.

My last post got me to thinking -
Comment with songs that are really upbeat and you think are great to workout to. I've already gotten a few suggestions from Christine, but would love to hear more. Gimme Gimme More! Oooo, that could possibly fit. I'm looking for catchy songs that have some kind of beat to it. Even if it's a tad bit slower, that's fine because it could be used for the warm up or cool down periods.
The latest song I have in my head that I'm going to have to download from iTunes and put on my playlist is:
(complete w/lyrics)
Danity Kane's "Damaged" - yes, that is P.Diddy's band. :)
So I've always thought I was a lyrics person more than a melody person. Meaning, that songs I really liked, I liked much more for the lyrics than the actual beat. I thought I paid attention to lyrics. I'm finding out ... not so much.
Pretty much the only country music I'll listen to is Garth Brooks Greatest Hits, and that's only because he had a tie in with McDonalds in promoting that CD, and who doesn't love a good Egg McMuffin? And it was in college - aren't we all experimental then?
So anyway, I needed some new music at the gym yesterday, so was just randomly going thru my iPod and decided to listen to that cd that I hadn't heard in ages. Ages.
So I'm elliptical-trainin' it, listening to "Ain't Goin' Down til the Sun Comes Up." Thinking, ooooo, we're goin' to the rodeo. Then I start listening. I mean, really listening. No background noise cause the earbuds are firmly in my ear, and the volume is up to 11 (this one goes to 11).
