MeMe from High School

| | Comments (6)

Even though people have virtually stopped posting comments on my blog, I'll still entertain you people with anecdotes from my childhood.

A meme about High School

1. Who was your best friend? In high school, I exchanged Best Friends bracelet charms with Lizard. I think I was Be Fri and she was St Ends.

2.What sports did you play? Hahahahahahahahhahaahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha.
Hahahahahahahahahahhahahhahahahaha. Pretty funny.

3. What kind of car did you drive? Plymoth Dodge Aries Reliant K. That is until I crashed the crap out of it on Tax Day '92. Hey - It looked like a 4-way stop sign. Save for the part that didn't say "4-way" on it.

4. It's Friday night, where were you? Probably at the movies with Lizard, E-rich, Bruns, Cris and/or Dannibell. I think we saw Wayne's World on the big screen 7 times. Shee-yah, right. OH! And either at the movies or at a high school football game. It was mostly for people watching. I'm so glad my folks let me go to those. We used to watch our quarterback make pass after incomplete pass. So we called him "Mr. Incomplete." I'm sure that's not nice, but whatever, he was an athlete, c'mon! And for you Braddorkians that read this site, I'm talking about J.T. not G.M. G.M. was dreamy. LOL.

5. Were you a party animal? See number 2. My folks wouldn't really let me go to parties. Which is all fine and dandy because 1) I didn't really want to go to them, 2) The people I hung out with didn't really have them, and 3) I wasn't invited to many!

6. Were you considered a flirt? How would I know what other people considered me if they didn't tell me? But I'd say prolly not.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Concert band in tenth grade. Since my folks wouldn't let me join marching band, there was really no reason to continue. I played Clarinet (just an FYI). And then I can't really remember, but it was either junior or senior year, but I did take guitar that year. Good times, good times.

8. Were you a nerd? I would dare say so.

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? See number 8. Figure it out, genius.

10. Can you sing the fight song? Who are the challengers! We are the challengers! Forever, in vic-tor-y, Fight fight fight! Um, yeah.

11. Who was your favorite teacher? Mr. Diaz, probably.

13. School mascot? We were named after a failed shuttle. The Challengers. That lasted about 5 years before they officially changed it to the BullDogs - Some genius started yelling "Braddock's got that dawg power - ruff ruff" at Football games and it stuck.

14. Did you go to Prom? I did not. Lizard & Cris came over to my house and we watched Flatliners and some other movies and had a grand old time. May sound lame to you now, but I do not regret one moment of me not going to prom. :)

15. If you could go back and do it over, would you? I would indeed. I met some of the best friends of my life in high school, and strengthened relationships I already had.

16. What do you remember most about graduation? That my parents got into yet ANOTHER fight and showed up late - way late - to my graduation. No photos were taken. Which is fine by me. Afterward, we went to red lobster and my father proceeded to embarrass the hell out of me. Good times.

17. Where were you on senior skip day? Probably at school. I had nowhere to skip to. Not that I really wanted to. Plus, when I was in 10th grade, this 9th grader I knew skipped on senior skip day (never mind that we were a brand new school and didn't have a senior class yet) and ended up playing russian roulette (unwillingly) and got shot in the head and died. So yeah, really no interest in me to skip school. If I wanted to get out of going to class, I'd call my folks and ask them to sign me out, then I'd go catch a mid-day concert at UM or something. (Of course, they didn't know I was going to UM to catch a concert, they just knew I was going to UM.)

18. Did you have a job your senior year? Nope, mon pere would not let me work.

19. Where did you go most often for lunch? I think we were an on-campus school for lunch, so I'd spring the buck twenty-five and buy a pizza hut slice of cheese from the cafe. We were lucky and got pizza hut and subway imported.

20. Have you gained weight since then? It depends who you ask. I've pretty much fluctuated the same.

21. What did you do after graduation? I got the hell outta dodge and went to school at the University of Flahrida. I loved that place.

22. When did you graduate? June 16, 1993. God, I'm old.

23. Who was your Senior prom date? See number 4. I had someone in mind that I wanted to ask out to prom, but I never got the balls to do so. Which is just as well, cause my life would have taken a completely different turn than it has now.

24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion? Been there, done that. Not going back to the 20 year, although I did have fun @ the ten year reunion. Funny thing was, i think the majority of people thought I was wasted and drunk off my ass cause they don't remember me being as "happy" in high school. So what if I wore black all the time and liked heavy metal? That don't mean a thing.

25. Who was your home room teacher? Home room? Lord, I don't remember having a homeroom in high school. I suppose I did, but I honestly can't remember.

Mother Trucks, I've been tagged

To prove it, here is a post.

HMPH.

I posted pics of Owen from April and May on his shutterfly. For link, look to your right.

Also, I'm in MD. So far, so good. Will be back from work tomorrow.

I actually like the Aaron Neville version of that song. Even though I hate everything else that comes out of his mole-infested face.

Wow, that was mean. But anyway, here is something that everyone should strive for. Wild, passionate, crazy turtle love. Listen to the little guy moan at the end! OMG, DYING.
